About us

From "Galerie und Rahmen" to O.G. Fine Arts

Ferdinande Ogurek founded the shop "Galerie und Rahmen" in November 1989 in Lohmar, focusing on framing customer works and selling pictures. She acquired a large part of the originals and unique pieces directly from artists or predominantly via renowned editions – partly framed, partly unframed. She framed many unframed sheets herself to match the motif.

Therefore, from the beginning, the focus was on original pictures. With the acquisition of the picture frame studios in Bensberg, their stocks were added; further works were supplemented via trade fairs and exhibitions. Over the years, an extensive, high-quality collection was created.

In 2015, the gallery was closed due to age and lack of succession. The stock was stored at Ausmeyer & Gerling – the traditional family business (est. 1868) from which my wife comes. In 2025, we decided to make these works accessible again under the name O.G. Fine Arts via an online shop – for collectors, companies, and everyone who enjoys original art.

What we offer today

O.G. Fine Arts presents a selection of these works online. The focus is on originals, unique pieces, and original graphics by renowned artists. Many works are framed, others are deliberately offered unframed so that you can choose a frame that suits your personal environment.

Not all works are visible in the shop at the same time. If you are looking for a specific motif, a special format, or an artist, please feel free to contact us via the contact form.

Originals and Unique Pieces – what does that mean?

"Original"

An original refers to the first, authentic execution of a motif by the artist – i.e., the actual work, not a mere reproduction. An original can be unique, but it doesn't have to be: A print graphic (e.g., etching, lithograph, screen print, woodcut) in a limited edition is considered original graphic, even if several copies exist. The decisive factor is that each sheet comes from the original artistic printing process.

"Unique Piece" (Unikat)

A unique piece is also an original, but the term explicitly emphasizes uniqueness: There is exactly one single copy of this work. Unique pieces are therefore particularly interesting for collectors who are looking for something truly unique.
